EXPERIMENTAL CLIMATE RESPONSIVE HOUSING.
SUSTAINABLE BUILDING PROTOTYPE · Ibagué, Tolima, Colombia
The Sustainable Building Prototype explores the integration of passive environmental design strategies to enhance thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and user well-being. The proposal incorporates cross-ventilation and the Venturi effect to optimize natural airflow, while strategically designed overhangs and shading screens regulate solar exposure. Landscaped courtyards and gardens promote evaporative cooling and create favorable microclimatic conditions. Sloped roofs and integrated drainage systems facilitate rainwater harvesting, while sustainable materials with high thermal mass contribute to indoor temperature regulation. These environmental strategies are complemented by an inclusive architectural approach that prioritizes universal accessibility, intuitive circulation, and sensory experiences tailored to users' needs.
